Waves and buckles almost always mean the carpet was never installed under proper tension — not that the carpet is finished. A restretch usually costs a fraction of replacement and leaves you with the floor you already chose, flat again.
If the pile is gone, the backing has delaminated, or water got through the pad, we will say so. Otherwise we power-stretch, re-tape seams, and patch damage using material from closets or leftover pieces whenever we can.

Why does carpet ripple?
Almost always a tension problem. A knee-kicker alone cannot pull a room tight; once the backing relaxes, slack shows up as waves. A proper power restretch puts that tension back.
Can you fix an open or visible seam?
Yes in most cases. We re-tape and re-roll the join so the edges pull into each other. If the pile is worn differently on each side, we will tell you before we start.
What about burns or pet damage?
Small burns and pet spots can often be patched with matching material from a closet or leftover piece. Large or water-damaged areas may need a different plan — we diagnose before we quote.
How much does restretching cost?
Far less than replacement in most rooms. Price depends on room size, furniture, and whether seams or patches are involved. On-site diagnosis is free and the number we write down is the number you pay.
